Prof. Ayman Hegab Profile

Prof. Ayman Hegab is a Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dental Medicine. Al-Azhar University. Cairo. Egypt.
Prof. Hegab is recognized globally as a leading expertise in TMJ disorders. He is one of the leaders and pioneers of the TMJ Disorders.
Prof. Hegab has a dozen of international publication of the TMJ disorders. He conceptualized many protocols in different TMJ disorders with pioneer conservative/ non-surgical management of TMJ internal derangement in 2018.
Prof. Hegab has over 15 years of research and treatment of TMJ disorders, jaw pathologies, dental implant, maxillofacial trauma, maxillofacial reconstruction & grafting.
Prof. Hegab is the owner and founder of Hegab Academy for continues education and research center since 2015. He is accredited speaker in the Continuous education program in Qatar. Licensed consultant oral & maxillofacial surgeon in Qatar since 2009.
Prof. Hegab is a Member of Egyptian Dental Association. Member of Egyptian Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. Doctor, s Degree (PhD) of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery focuses on Distraction Osteogenesis the Alveolar Cleft, Faculty of Dental Medicine. Al-Azhar University. Cairo. May 2007.

Prof. Hegab has the privilege to design and introduce Tooth-Borne, Custom-Made Distraction Device for closure of the alveolar cleft which is approved by American Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery (Hegab Alveolar Distraction Device).
Also, He has the privilege design and introduce split acrylic splint for treatment of paediatric mandibular fracture which approved by the British journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Hegab Paediatric Mandibular Fracture Device).
He has the privilege design and introduce Hegab TMJ Splint (HTS) which is a unique TMJ splint design. And recently he published his international new classification of TMJ internal derangement (Hegab classification) and his new non-surgical treatment protocol (Hegab Protocol) which recognized internationally as a guideline for diagnosis and treatment of TMJ internal Derangement
He has over 40 Publication in peer reviewed journals with more than 360 citations. He was Speaker in many of the international conferences in USA, Qatar, and UAE & Italy.
